Richmond half marathon completed!

Well done to Natasha and Jane who ran the Richmond Old Deer Park half marathon with me!

It was a hard race starting with multiple loop backs in the park followed by a very muddy towpath and road running…and then we had to do it all over again as the race was done in two laps!

But we were rewarded with a really nice medal and a sense of achievement. Natasha and Jane are the first Common Runners to complete a half marathon – well done ladies!

Common Runners enjoyed Bushy Park Race

Some new and seasoned Common Runners enjoyed the 5k & 10k Capital Runners Bushy Park Race on Sunday 28 June.

The route was flat and partly shaded, which was very important as it was a humid day! Four ran the 10k in under one hour and one runner completed the 5k in under 30 minutes! Well done to Alethea, Emma, Michelle, Siri & husband.

Summer holiday classes

As most people go away at some time over the summer holidays and many have children to entertain when at home, there will be no day time classes during this period, only two classes on Tuesday evenings which are open to all and will operate on a pay-as-you-go-basis – the cost is £10. The classes will run if there are a minimum of 4 people attending.
There will be an improver’s class at 7pm where we’ll run for about 40 minutes and includes sprints & hills. And then there will be a beginner’s level 2 class at 8pm where we’ll run for up to 30 minutes and build fitness with some low level sprints and hills.
Summer class dates are as follows:
* Tuesday 21 July – 7-8pm (improvers), 8-9pm (beginners plus)
* Tuesday 28 July
* Tuesday 11 Aug
* Tuesday 25 Aug
* Tuesday 1 Sept
If you are interested in attending a summer class please let me know and I will put your name down. Nearer the time I will reconfirm to see if you are still interested in attending.

Common Runners will be at Bushy Park race!

At the end of every term we enter a local race and this term it’s the Capital Runners Bushy Park 5k/10k race on the 28th June.

So far we have 8 runners signed up for the race – please let us know if you would like to join us. A picnic will follow after the race – husbands and children are very welcome!
